Does anyone know if you can still get the speedo drive for this conversion, new from Nissan
Part number 32702-02G17

When using this speedo drive, do you still use the 3.45 gear ratio in the diff

I got one brand new through a local Nissan dealer and if have standard diff ratio 3.45 speedo will be spot on , If your Nissan dealer cant get it go to your local holden dealer ask for a mx7 speedo drive which is the exact same thing

Got mine wired up, basically joined spade terminals onto the gearbox plug and then cut and joined the wires from the loom to the plug.

My reverse lights work, and so does the dash light. But only kind of. If I go into reverse and push the gearstick a little away from me, to the passenger side, the lights work. but if I pull it towards the drivers side the lights don't work.

Is the switch probably worn? (If so, I'll live with it, I know when the lights are on because the dash is on, so its ok.) Not keen on pulling the box just to change the switch.
Does anyone know how exactly it's activated? Is it off the shifter? because I did have to open the shifter and **** around in there when I munched the nylon bush shifting like a hektic c**t at barbagallo. Maybe I did something then that I could undo to make the switch not be so sh*t?

its probably just the rod on the end of the switch is worn. Il have to get you to send me a pic of which wired were for the reverse lights so I can get around to doing mine eventually as well

Is there any differences between the to boxes on the inside. In pics of the 2, the r34 box looks like the stronger of the two boxes.

How much power have people put through these boxes (standard box).
How much more power can they handle with a gear set

No idea, they don't exactly share everything they do with good reason. But it was a 33 box haha. who knows whether it had an aftermarket gearset or what clutch... all I know is it crossed the line without munching the box haha.

Guys, not sure if it was ever mentioned in here but the reason the 10" flywheels doesn't fit in some R33 box's is that there are two size's.

They are known as a big or small R33/34 box. Get the "big" housing box and you won't have any issues with the 10" VLT flywheel.

Hey all. I have purchased a r34 gearbox to put into my vl which currently is running a mf5 manual gearbox. Question is, to swap the r34 gearbox from pull to push, can I use the existing push setup from my mf5 ?
What have other people done to get around this ??

its not that low. it may touch with full compression of the suspension but not likely

Hi guys I'm doing a auto NA to Manual R33 conversion next week. I believe I have everything but I have a few questions.

1, can I still use my auto speedo cable, or do I need a mx7 one?

2, do I use a mx7 hydraulic clutch line (from clutch master to slave cylinder)
Or do I have to get something custom made up? Is it long enough? Does it fit on the r33 slave cylinder?

3, if using the auto or mx7 speedo cable, do I need the 90 degree adaptor on the speedo pinion?

4, lastly, do I need the manual floor plate?

Any info will be a big help. Thanks
